Intellectual reading

I've decided I'm going to read something classic, or literary, or smart. I admit I read a lot of trash. I'm not really a fan of heavy, emotionally dense, horrific, dramatic, or gut wrenching books. I prefer light, fun, interesting stories that make me laugh or give me a feel good vibe. Biographies of being locked in someone's basement for 20 years, or first person accounts of childhood sexual abuse etc. just don't work for me. I really have no idea why anyone reads that stuff. Don't you want to sleep at night? Don't get me wrong, I've read a lot of literary books. A lot of classics. A lot of deep make you think type of books in my day. I mean a lot. Lately, however when I can only read for 5 minutes here or there I prefer to choose light material over the 'I have to be absorbed in the book in order to follow along' material. But, I think I can branch out a little and read something a little less fluffy for a change so, here are my choices:
To Kill A Mockingbird (since I never got around to reading it and now there is a sequel. The Stranger by Harlan Coben,  and Flash by Rachel Ridge. I'll pick one and review for all my lovely readers. I'm leaning towards Flash because it's about a donkey and gosh darnit those donkeys are just so cute.

Of course if you want to read something that is both dark and fun check out Amaranthine ------> it's the best. Seriously, if I hadn't read it a hundred times already I would totally read it again.

Writing is more than a hobby or a profession. It's a state of being, where the actions and dialogue of fictional characters occupies more space in your head than your own.
