My Crew

Anyone who knows me is unsurprised that my main character has a menagerie of pets since I have always been the animal lady. I have less now than I think I have ever had. In my life I have had birds and hamsters, cats, dogs, horses and rabbits. I will post an in memoriam post one day but for now this is the current crew that keeps the house lively and the soul whole.

I don't have a duck, although I am working on it, but I do have a couple cats that are too hairy , too noisy and too bossy. The tuxedo is Dr Livingston, and the dinner suit is Fluffers.  I'm not "allowed" to get more cats after these two are gone due to my husbands allergies, so I guess I will just have to spend outrageous amounts of money keeping them alive as long as possible. I hate a catless house, it just feels so empty and cold.

This is Sunny. He is 19 or 20 this year and still as gorgeous and spunky as ever. He has had a few years off because I was in baby making land but I intend to get him in kick ass shape this year in my cross country field. Sunny has an interesting past, and came very close to being on the dog food truck. He is the longest relationship I've ever had, (besides my best friend Rita) and has been my partner for 16 years.  I intend to write an essay on him in the future and will post it whenever I finish it.

This is Marlin. He's 3 now but I love this picture of him as a pup. He is a German Shepherd Chocolate lab cross that I found in Lethbridge AB. He is the best dog I have ever owned. Not that my others were lacking, but that this one is just exceptional.

Writing is more than a hobby or a profession. It's a state of being, where the actions and dialogue of fictional characters occupies more space in your head than your own.

Amaranthine: Eternally beautiful and unfading; everlasting.

The Amaranth flower is a mythical flower that never dies.
